About Angel Brunelle

Hi! I’m Angel Brunelle, a consultant, coach, and facilitator focused on supporting small and mid-sized nonprofits in leveraging relationships in order to grow and thrive. I help nonprofit professionals and organizations build strong teams, navigate change, and reconnect with their purpose. I’ve always believed that relationships are the key to meaningful change. Today, I combine decades of nonprofit leadership and experiential learning expertise to help organizations and individuals step into their full potential and reach new heights.

How I got here

Over 30 years ago, soon after I graduated from college, a friend suggested I spend a summer working as a camp counselor. I packed my tiny Toyota Corolla and drove from southern Ohio to Connecticut for the summer season. Turns out, I didn’t head back to Ohio at the end of the summer.  Instead, I fell in love with working in such a beautiful outdoor setting, and supporting and guiding young people as they grew.

I built a career in YMCA camping, from camp counselor and outdoor educator, to Program Director then Outdoor Center Director. From here, I moved into the experiential/adventure education realm, where I learned facilitation skills from some of the best in the business, as well as theory and pedagogy behind group and team development. I continued to provide direct services through facilitation and training, while at the same time travelling on my own leadership path as Youth Programs Manager, Sales and Marketing Director to Development and Communications Director.

After a decade with this organization, I moved on to become the Director of Development at the Boys & Girls Club in my community. For 8 years, I honed my fundraising and leadership skills and regularly exceeded organization goals and my own expectations. From day one, my approach was grounded in building meaningful, authentic relationships with staff and supporters.

These days, I combine my years of experience in nonprofit leadership roles, fundraising expertise and facilitation skills to help nonprofits (and some for profit) organizations build more effective teams and boards, establish and refine their fundraising programs, and get out of the scarcity mindset that leads to burnout.

When I am not working with nonprofits, I can be found playing music with my cover band SecondHand, hiking and enjoying the natural world around us (check out the facebook group Find Yourself in Nature) and planning my next travel destination with my husband. I also volunteer in my community, and am proud to be part of the Board of Directors for the Lowell Middlesex Academy Charter School, Lowell Middlesex Academy School Foundation and Angkor Dance Troupe
